Evelyn McFarland, 80, Webster City, died Thursday, June 22, 2000 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the Foster Funeral Home.
Evelyn Beatrice McFarland, daughter of Glen Martin Hersom and Kathryn Mae Boosell Hersom, was born on March 22, 1920 at Palmer. She was educated in the Webster City schools. On July 26, 1941 she married Kenneth Woods at Princeton, Mo. The couple resided in Webster City and then Stanhope. She worked for Selby Produce and Morton's Frozen Foods and the Iowa Inn. Mr. Woods died on April 26, 1957. On August 23, 1960 she married Guy Leonard McFarland at Fairmont, Minn. The couple resided in Webster City. During this time, she worked for Brown's Restaurant, babysitting, McGilligans, Hahne Printing and the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Mr. McFarland died Dec. 1, 1980. She continued to reside in Webster City.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jolene McFarland, Webster City; grandchildren, Angela and David McFarland, Webster City, Renate Eide, Kory and Christopher Long, sisters, Margaret Johnson of Webster City, Joann Cook of Anna, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
