Betty Joan Dobstaff, 64, Dunnville, Ontario, Canada, died Sunday, June 18, 2000 in her home. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Ballard-McDonald Funeral Home in Dunnville, Ont. Burial will be in the Windecker Cemetery.

Betty Joan Dobstaff, daughter of Lionel and Inez Murphy (Bunn) was born November 18, 1936 in Cayuga, Ontario, Canada. She was raised and attended school in Cayuga. She married James Pankhurst on June 10, 1953 and moved to Oshawa where she was a homemaker. The couple was later divorced.

On March 17, 1964 she was married to Charles R. Dobstaff and moved to Buffalo, New York. In May of 1995 they moved to Webster City. Her husband Charles died Feb. 1998. In May of 1999 she returned to Dunnville, where she resided until her death.

She is survived by sisters Margaret Downey, Dunnville, Cora Fryderlund, Saskatchewan, Canada and her brother Ray Bunn, Cayuga, Ontario; her daughters and sons-in-law, Kristine and Jack Peed, Eagle Grove and Kimberly Dobstaff-Sharrott and Edward Sharrott of Webster City, grandchildren Michael Porter, Des Moines, Aaron Porter, St. Louis and Adam and Aimee Porter, Boone; Monica Peed, Fort Dodge, Monique Peed, Killeen, Texas, Jamie and Jason Peed, Pocahontas; and Edward and Steven Sharrott, Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Patricia Anne Pankhurst and her husband Charles.

She was a member of the Congregational UCC Church in Webster City.
