Frederick Ernest Grempel Jr., 97, Webster City, died Monday, June 19, 2000 at the Southfield Care Center. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Frederick Ernest Grempel Jr., the son of Frederick and Anna Lachmiller Grempel, was born June 2, 1903 at Webster City. He attended Webster City schools. On June 2, 1930 he married Mary Alma Cornthwaite. He retired from Frigidaire in 1968. Mrs. Grempel died August 17, 1969.

Survivors are his daughter, Joy Pratt of Webster City, a grandson Cory Pals of Red Oak, sisters Marie Krahn and Ann Grempel, both of Englewood, Colo.; Louise Anderson of Littleton, Colo., several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Herman, Lewis and Carl Grempel.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
