Orzelle Elizabeth Kaufmann, 86, Columbia, MO., died June 2, 2000 at Columbia, Mo. Graveside services were held Monday at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, MO. Memorials may be directed to the Fellowship of John, in care of the Lenoir Retirement Community, 3612 Lenoir St., Columbia, MO 65201.

Orzelle Elizabeth Knight was born August 2, 1913 at Stanhope, the daughter of Eugene and Esther Sorenson Knight. She married John Kaufmann at Milwaukee, Wis. on April 7, 1956. She was a retired cosmetician for Federated Department Stores in Milwaukee. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gross Yaksh Post of Milwaukee and was a member of the Grace Congregational Church in Milwaukee where she served as church treasurer for 35 years.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jack Purtell of Columbia, MO., two sisters, Bonnie Granville and Helen Hove, both of Webster City; two grandsons and spouses, Rick and Christy Bartelt of Columbia; Randy and Christie Bartelt of Lincoln, Neb.; five great-grandchildren, Merideth, Aaron and Alexis Bartelt, Columbia, MO., Sarah and Amber Bartelt, Lincoln, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and her husband in August of 1989.
