Elmer "Tubb" Elkin, 75, Eagle Grove, died Sunday, June 11, 2000 at his home in Eagle Grove. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at Eagle Grove United Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Elkin's body was cremated. Visitation will be at the church in the Fireside Room from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Cremation Society of Iowa is handling arrangements.

Elmer Elkin was born in Williams and lived most of his life in the Eagle Grove area. He worked as a driver for Umthun Trucking for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Elkin spent several years serving on the board of directors for the credit union, was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, American Legion and was a charter member, organizer and past-president of the Umthun Trucking Employees Association.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret, Eagle Grove; two sons, Tom Elkin of Perkins, Minn., Mark Elkin of Eagle Grove, daughters Holly Riemenschneider, Webster City, Heidi McCuddin, Pleasant Hill; three brothers, Carl and Donald Elkin of Webster City and Grigg Elkin of Eagle Grove; sister Viola Wearda, Webster City; six grandchildren.
