Ruth E. Moorman, 81, Ames, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at the Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames with Dr. Kent Organ officiating. A private burial will be held at the Iowa State University Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Memorials should be directed to the Collegiate Presbyterian Church which will then be earmarked for the Christian Education Departments new children's programs or to the Israel Family Hospice House.

Ruth E. Wasson, daughter of Eugene and Loveta Woodward Wasson, was born June 24, 1918 at Blairsburg. She graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1935 and Iowa State College in 1939 with a BA in Home Economics Education. She taught high school home economics from 1939 to 1943 at LaPorte City and West Union. She married Robert B. Moorman on July 25, 1944 in Blairsburg. After her husband entered the service, she worked at Younkers in Des Moines in the upholstery and drapery department. She was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, ISU Women's Club and Chapter HO PEO.

Survivors are her husband Bob, a son Jim Moorman, Shaumberg, Ill., two daughters Roberta Moorman, St. Paul, Minn., and Kris Moorman, Ames; a sister Helen Atkins, Ames; two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dick Wasson and sister Mary Lou Pulis.
