James Wilson, 55, Gowrie, a former Webster City resident died Monday, May 29, 2000 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Graceland Cemetery with Rev. James Cherry officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

James Melvin Wilson, son of Herbert and Dorothy McIntire Wilson, was born Dec. 27, 1944 at Webster City. He attended Webster City schools. From November 1963 to October 1964, he served with the U.S. Army Artillery in Germany. Following his discharge, he worked at Ruan Lumber Company. He joined the Iowa National Guard - 1135th Transportation Company for six years and two years in the inactive program. On Nov. 3, 1973 he married Rebecca Lynn Toftee at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City, Ellsworth and Oregon. They moved to Fort Dodge in 1984, Farnhamville for four years and Gowrie the past three years. He had been disabled for several years.

Survivors are his wife Becky, daughters Mary Ann Wilson of Des Moines, Jennifer and Reba Wilson, both of Gowrie, a grandson, brothers Larry Wilson, Somers, Gaylord Eide, Columbus, Ga., Orv Eide, Webster City, Dennis Eide, Dallas, TX., Douglas Eide of Webster City; sisters Elaine Brown, Tavares, Fla., Linda Wagner, Duncombe, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dan Eide.
