Dorothy I. Miller, 79, Seaford, Del., died April 30, 2000. A private memorial service is planned at Odessa, Del.

She was born in Hamilton County, Iowa, on Aug. 12, 1920. She graduated from Iowa State College and taught home economics in Iowa, then took graduate work at the University of Minnesota, where she was a member of Omicron Nu Scholastic Honor Society. She and her husband and son lived at Madison, Minn. for 13 years. Later she lived in Ghana West Africa for five years when her husband was in foreign service as an agricultural education advisor. She helped set up the home economic courses in Ghana. After moving to Delaware, she taught in the North Bridgeville Elementary School for 15 years. The couple were frequent world travelers. She co-authored a series of articles for national farm magazines.

She and her sisters owned her father's farm in Blairsburg section 28. Her father, John Heffner represented Hamilton County in the House of Representatives for eight years.

Survivors are her husband, Charles L. Miller, Seaford, Del.; a son Charles C. Miller of Odessa, Del., sisters Ramona Carthey of Chambersberg, PA., and Beth Heffner of Cedar Rapids.
