Mark B. Eich, 51, Webster City, died Saturday, May 6, 2000 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City, with Rev. Mike Morgan and Cindi O'Brien, pastoral assistant, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral home in Webster City from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and at the church after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Mark B. Eich, son of Roger and Virgene Schacht Eich, was born February 19, 1949 at Manilla, Iowa. He attended Sacred Heart school in Templeton and graduated from Carroll Kuemper high school in 1967. He attended ICCC in Fort Dodge, one year at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and two years at the Metro Technical College in the Private Security Program. He had worked at the Omaha National bank as an assistant security director for 11 years. In 1981, he started working for Cox Communications in Omaha, as general manager of the security division. In 1987, he purchased the Vault Bar and Grill in Duncombe. In 1991, he started working at a local agriculture chemical company as the safety director. He retired due to failing health. In 1975, he married Vicki Nelson. To this union a daughter was born. They were later divorced. In 1990, he married Janet Doss at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Survivors are his wife, Jan, daughters Alicia Eich, Webster City, Tammy Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Tina Doss of Woolstock, Shawnna Doss of Ames, grandsons Morgan and Palin Anderson, father and step-mother Roger and Bonnie Eich of Dallas Center, step-father Jack Kuns of Templeton, brothers James Eich of Fort Dodge, Michael Eich of Bellevue, Neb., sisters Monica Johnson, Knoxville, Connie Mitchell, Council Bluffs; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virgene Kuns, a nephew Robert K. Eich and a brother-in-law John Mitchell.

He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
