Evelyn Miller, 82, a former Webster City resident, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at the U.S. Healthcare Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City with Rev. Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.

Evelyn Roberta Tash, daughter of Thomas and Edna Matthews Tash, was born May 27, 1917 on a farm near Webster City. She attended rural schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City. She also attended Normal training and taught in rural schools in Hamilton County. On June 2, 1939 she married James "Bud" Miller at Webster City. The couple farmed north of Blairsburg from 1939 to 1955, then moved to a farm two miles east of Webster City. She was a homemaker and co-farmed with her husband. Mr. Miller died January 24, 1996. She continued to reside on the family farm. She had resided at the care center since May of 1998.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Judith Miller, Clear Lake, daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Bill Ruth of Altoona, grandchildren Dawn Hejna, Blake and J.D. Miller, Jodee Esser, Scott Wailes and Tami Chambers; eight great-grandchildren; brother Clair Tash of Fort Dodge, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wilbur Tash and nephew Dick Tash.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Webster City, former member of the Rural Women's Chorus, Ruth Circle, a WCTU member, a strong Democratic Party supporter and was involved in many Stonega area activities.
