Alice Blanchard, 83, Webster City, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home with Cindi O'Brien, ministry assistant, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.

Alice Almeda Tague, daughter of James and Nettie Bamford Tague, was born Jan. 15, 1917 at Woodbine. She attended Woodbine Public School and also attended a cosmetology school in Council Bluffs. On Nov. 28, 1936, she married Loren Phillip Blanchard at Council Bluffs. The couple farmed in the Webster City area until 1955 when they moved to Webster City. She was employed at Jim's Grill, Hamilton Hospital, Newcastle Inn, Crestview Manor and as a caregiver for the Doctors Lewis. Mr. Blanchard died on Oct. 4, 1975 and she continued to reside in Webster City. She resided at Southfield since November 1998.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Mary Blanchard of Webster City, David and Pat Blanchard of Sioux City, daughters Rosemary Mueller and Naleta Murray, both of Lehigh, Cheryl Katschke of Sioux Falls, S.D., 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Ron Katschke and Richard Mueller, her parents, a great-grandson, brother Harold Tague, sisters Edna Saathoff, Velva Myers and Carol Willis.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
