Robert Srigley, 77, Duncombe, died Saturday, March 4, 2000 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. He was cremated and graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Graceland Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #491 of Duncombe. Arrangements were made through the Foster Funeral Home.

Robert Byron Srigley, son of Byron and Della Downs Srigley, was born March 10, 1922 at Omaha, NE. He attended Omaha schools. In 1931, he moved with his parents to Webster City where he attended Webster City schools. He then moved to Knoxville, later returning to Webster City. In 1942, he married Kathryn Graves. The couple resided in Webster City. To this union, a daughter and son were born. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army as an anti-aircraft operator in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre of Action. Following his discharge, he returned to Webster City. The couple were later divorced. On July 19, 1947, he married Evelyn Loux at Webster City. The couple resided in Shell Rock, Manson and Boone where he owned and operated dry cleaning businesses. The couple were divorced. He continued in the dry cleaning business in Webster City and Fort Dodge. He had retired several years ago.

Survivors are daughter Rita Anderson of Goodell, son Tim White of Cedar Rapids, daughter Deb Ludwig, sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Linda Srigley, Rick and Clare Srigley, all of Boone, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Nicole Ludwig.

He was a former member of the VFW in Boone and a member of the American Legion Post #491 in Duncombe.
