Ike R. Swenson, infant son of James and Kerra Swenson, rural Jewell, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell with Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's Cemetery on Nelson Ave., southwest of Jewell.

Ike R. Swenson was born Monday, Feb. 14, 2000 in Ames to James Lee and Kerra Lee Heckman Swenson. He is survived by his parents of Jewell, a sister Cassie Lane Heckman and a brother Trevor James Heckman, both at home; grandparents Roger and Doris Swenson of Jewell, Alan and Arlyce Heckman of Jewell, great-grandparents Signe Swenson of Jewell, Carolyn Heckman of Charles City, and Arlene Knudson of Story City. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Kenneth Heckman, Reuben Swenson, Lester Knudson and Herman and Grace Stahl.
