Donald Iles, 71, Dayton, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000 in his home. Funeral services were Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Dayton with Rev. Rudy De Rosa officiating. Burial was in Dayton Cemetery. Carson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Donald Eugene Iles, son of Grover C. and Maggie Malmberg Iles, was born March 4, 1928 in Stratford. He attended Stratford Schools and spent most of his life in the Stratford-Dayton areas. He married Marjorie Tell on Sept. 14, 1947 in the Dayton United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed painter, mason and carpenter for 15 years. He established the Dayton Clover Farm Store in 1960. He retired from the grocery business in 1990. He was past president of the Dayton Community Club and Grandview Apartments. He was the co-founder of the Dayton Rescue Squad and Avenue of Flags.

Survivors are his wife, Marge, Dayton, a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and Mike Borer, Omaha, NE., a son, Monti Iles of Des Moines, two grandsons, Gregory and Trevor Borer, two brothers, Murlin Iles of Stratford and Harold Iles of Webster City, a sister, Genevieve Steuerwald, Webster City. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gregory, and three brothers, Myron, Kenneth and Clifford.
