Lyle L. Minard, 77, Waterloo, a former Iowa Falls resident, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at the Country View Nursing Home in Waterloo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams with Rev. Tom Hunt to officiate. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery. Friends may call at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls Tuesday from 3-7 p.m.

Lyle Lester Minard, son of John and Myrdle Bryan Minard, was born April 15, 1922 in Hampton. He attended Iowa Falls schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. He married Violet Mae Patterson on May 4, 1953 in Sioux Falls, S.D. Mr. Minard had been employed with Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo until his retirement in 1983.

Survivors are four sons, Roger of Waterloo, Howard of Conesville, Kenneth of Sioux City and Donald of Waterloo, a step-daughter, Gloria McNamee, Waterloo, a sister, LaVerta Lancaster of Alden, one brother, Brian Minard of Tucson, AZ., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers, Arlo, Ray, Dwayne, Francis, Verdell and Robert Minard; and a sister, Shirley Tressmer.
