Ruth Neese, 93, Webster City, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000 at the Crestview Manor Care Center. Mrs. Neese was cremated and a memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City with Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Graceland Cemetery. There will be no visitation and arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Ruth Sophia Farnham, daughter of George and Sarah Chester Farnham, was born Sept. 22, 1906 at Madison, MN. She was educated at Madison and graduated from high school in Moville, IA in 1924. She also received a teaching certificate from Morningside College. On Nov. 26, 1931, she married Edgar (Bud) Passwaters. They resided in Webster City. Mr. Passwaters died on March 26, 1973. On September 14, 1975, she married Eldrich Meyer. The couple resided at Webster City. Mr. Meyer died Sept. 22, 1983. On April 5, 1986 she married Verne Neese at Nashua. Mr. Neese died July 30, 1998. She had been a bookkeeper in the Webster City area for many years. She had worked at Morton's Frozen Foods and State Farm Insurance, retiring in the early 1970's.

She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Robert Riggs of Clear Lake, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Harold and Curtis Farnham, sisters, Hazel Wallsmith and Georgia Sarff.

She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and for many years was the church organist.
