Lucy Jahncke, 84, Battle Creek, formerly of Webster City, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2000 at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek, where she had resided for the past two years. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Webster City with Rev. Bill Kem officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. The Christensen Ciha Funeral home in Ida Grove is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Lucy Glee Wilson, daughter of George and Chlista Willson Wilson, was born July 27, 1915 in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High School. On June 6, 1940 she married Vernie Jahncke in Webster City, where the couple made their home and lived their entire life. She was employed at the Webster City Greenhouse, Hart-Carter, and at Hamilton County Public Hospital. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and also belonged to the garden club.

Survivors are a sister and brother-in-law, Liz and Jim Rice, Battle Creek, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vernie, two brothers, Alvie and Eugene Wilson and one sister, Juanita Janvrin.
