Dr. Ralph Dickason, 92, Rockford, IL., a former Webster City dentist, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999 at the Independence Village at Rockford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until 8:30 a.m. when the casket will be taken to the church. A Rosary will be held at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a scripture service at 7 p.m. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.

Ralph Bertrum Dickason, son of Bert and Sadie Leedom Dickason, was born Nov. 24, 1907 at Council Bluffs. He received his education in the Council Bluffs school system. He graduated from the Creighton Dental School in 1933. On Oct. 3, 1936, he married Susan Jane Hushaw at Council Bluffs. He practiced dentistry at Council Bluffs and Missouri Valley. During World War II, he practiced dentistry with the U.S. Army. He was a 26 year member of the Iowa National Guard, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. In 1945, the family moved to Webster City, where he practiced dentistry for 50 years. He moved to Rockford, IL. in May of 1997. His wife died Sept. 8, 1997.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cindy Dickason, Weatherford, Texas, William and Glenda Dickason, Moorhead, MN., daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Ronald Picht, Rockford, IL., grandchildren, Andy, Mike, Theresa, Tim, Jenny and Jennifer Dickason, Tara O'Meara, Adam, Ben and Kate Picht, Chris Beasley and Julie Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Devinne Anderson and Emily O'Meara; a sister, June Sommerfield, Cape Coral, FL.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Isabelle Stowe.

He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, the Knights of Columbus, a former Noon Kiwanis member and a charter member of the Diamond K Kiwanis.
