Alma Pelz, 87, Blairsburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1999 at the Southfield Care Center in Webster City. Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Blairsburg. There will be no visitation. Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams is in charge of arrangements.

Alma J. Pelz, daughter of Charles B. and Ivy Ethel Adams Short, was born April 22, 1912 in Mount Vernon, IL. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City in 1932. She married Robert E. Pelz on July 5, 1932 at Sioux Falls, SD. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Webster City Rebecca Lodge, Thimble Club of Blairsburg and Peace Circle of her church. She also served as a 4-H leader.

Survivors are her husband, Robert E. Pelz of Blairsburg, three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert C. and Mary Jean Pelz of Webster City, Jack and Bonnie of Webster City and Richard Pelz of DeSota, WI., daughters and son-in-law, Patricia Pelz of Loveland, CO., Sheryl and Roger Fagervik, Blairsburg; 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lathela Madsen of Webster City, and Helen Gembler of Lake Park, IA., a foster sister, Joan Kickbush of Clive and two sisters-in-law, Janet Short and Dorothy Short. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mabel Mazanti and three brothers, Dale, Howard and Baron Short.
