Etta Baker Harris, 102, Webster City, a former Des Moines resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 at the Crestview Manor Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at Des Moines.

Etta Mae Raymond, daughter of Frank and Mae Price Raymond, was born Dec. 13, 1897 at Fond Du Lac, Wis. She received her education in the Cedar Rapids school system. She started working for a Cedar Rapids Telephone Company. In 1917, she married Curtis G. Baker at Cedar Rapids. She then became supervisor for the telephone company. They moved to Des Moines. From 1939 to 1958, she was president of Iowa Traffic Service in Des Moines. On Nov. 6, 1957, Mr. Baker died. In 1962, she married Thomas Harris at Webster City. The couple resided in Des Moines. Mr. Harris died Aug. 23, 1979. For two years she resided in a care center in Des Moines and for the past 10 years at Crestview Manor.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and John Hovland, Webster City, son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Marlys Baker of Bartlesville, OK., grandchildren, Jan Reneau, Susan Sparger, Kim Baker, John C. and James Hovland, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, three brothers and a sister.
