Helen G. Wilhite, 81, Eagle Grove, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999 at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. A funeral and Eastern Star service will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Helen G. Martin was born May 11, 1918 at Fort Dodge, the daughter of Claude and Daisey Skuldt Martin. As a child, she moved with her family to Ames and later to Fairfield. About 1931, they moved back to Fort Dodge, where she attended high school. She also attended AIB in Des Moines. Oct. 5, 1943 she married Otho Lee Wilhite at Fort Dodge. They began farming at Corwith, then moved to Eagle Grove in 1957 to farm. She entered Friendship Haven in April of 1995 due to ill health.

She was a member of the Christian Science Church in Webster City, where she was a reader, Sunday school teacher and on the board of directors. She was also a member of the Wright County Farm Bureau, Order of Eastern Star in Eagle Grove and helped to start the Rainbow Girls there.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Sue Wilhite of Des Moines, grandchildren Virginia and Crystal, a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Mary Martin of Excelsior, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Otho, who died on May 24, 1999.
