Dorothy Monteith, 91, Jewell, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were Monday at Becker Funeral Home with burial in Eldora at the Eldora Cemetery.

Dorothy Anna Dornsbach was born August 29, 1908 at Owasa, the daughter of Herman and Anna Oldenburg Dornsbach. She grew up in the Eldora area, graduating from Eldora High School in 1925. She worked in the County Clerk's office in the Hardin County Courthouse prior to her marriage. On May 12, 1936 she married Thomas Edward Monteith in Marshalltown. They lived in Rice Lake, MN., Marshalltown and Eldora before moving to Jewell in 1959. She was a member of PEO and bridge club.

Survivors are her daughter, Meredith Nevenhoven, Emmetsburg, two sons Tom Monteith of Lacrosse, WI., and Dick Monteith of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; five grandchildren, Tami Feauto, Wendy Nevenhoven, Mark Nevenhoven, Alex Monteith and Carrie Elsner; seven great-grandchildren and a brother Frank Dornsbach of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1981 and a brother Bob Dornsbach and a sister Margaret Burke.
