Arthur Hansen, 80, Webster City, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999 at Crestview Manor Care Center in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Webster City, with Revs. John Grebner and Doug Bullock-Tiffany officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church prior to the service on Wednesday. The family will be present from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Arthur Henry Hansen, son of Peter and Maria Papenhansen Hansen, was born July 22, 1919 on a farm near Coleridge, NE. He graduated from Coleridge High School in 1938. He attended the University of Nebraska and Wayne State. He worked with the AAA Farm Program from 1940 to 1943. On May 21, 1943 he married Carol Jean Heedum at Hartington, NE. He worked in the lumber business, managing lumber yards in Crofton, NE., Hartington, NE and the Spahn and Rose Lumber Store in Webster City. They moved to Ames in 1967, where he managed the Munn Building Center until his retirement in 1984. In 1998, they moved to Crestview Apartments and for the past year and a half, had resided at Crestview Manor.

Survivors are his wife, Carol, sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Darlene Hansen, Fort Dodge, Timothy and Karen Hansen, Kent, WA., David and Edie Hansen of Webster City, Todd and Leslie Hansen of Asheville, NC., eight grandchildren, sister, Dora Peck of Coleridge, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Frederick, Herman and William Hansen.

Mr. Hansen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

The family requests memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or Trinity Lutheran Church.
