C. Richard Stark Sr., 76, Fort Dodge, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999 at Trinity Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel and at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with Revs. James Hayes, Edward Girres, Patrick Walsh, John Walsh and Harry McAlpine, Con-Celebrating The Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Webster City. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home. A Legion of Mary Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Parish Vigil for the Deceased will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

C. Richard (Dick) Stark was born Dec. 13, 1922 [son of Max and Lillian O'Rourke Stark] at Fort Dodge. He moved with his family as a young boy to Hamilton County where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1940. He married Margaret Selby on March 29, 1948. The couple made their home in Webster City until moving to their farm near Highview in 1959. He farmed all of his life in Hamilton County. He also worked in the Commodity Brokerage business for R.G. Dickinson Co., in Des Moines from 1962-70. He founded Stark Brokerage Inc., in Fort Dodge in 1970 and continued the business until the present day. He and his wife moved from their farm to Fort Dodge in 1994 and have made their home there since.

Mr. Stark was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, and a past longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Webster City. At St. Thomas Aquinas Parish he served on the Parish Council, served as a trustee and taught CCD classes. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary and was Knight in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret; son, C. Richard Stark Jr., Woolstock, daughters Nancy Seymour of Omaha, NE., Catherine Nedved of Webster City and Elizabeth Kyle, Argyle, TX; 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers Maurice Stark of Fort Dodge and Rev. John Stark, Cedar Falls.

The family request no flowers. Memorials may be left to Hospice of Fort Dodge, Meals on Wheels of Fort Dodge, St. Thomas Aquinas Foundation, Webster City or the St. Edmond Foundation, Fort Dodge.
