Hellen G. Songer Brummett, 88, Springfield, MO., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999. She had been in ill health for the past year.

The body was cremated and graveside services will be Saturday at the Nigh Cemetery in Lamar, MO with Rev. Curtis McCullough, her great-grandson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Greenlawn Mortuary, Springfield.

She was born May 31, 1911 at Lamar, MO., the daughter of Jessee and Gertrude Cooke Songer. She lived in the Lamar area until 1956, moving to Webster City at that time. She moved to Springfield, MO in 1985. She married Grover Brummett on August 2, 1933 at Lamar. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1955. She was a retired poultry worker.

Survivors are a granddaughter, Cindy McCullough, three grandsons, Ed McCullough, Pittsburg, Richard and Allen McCullough, both of Springfield and eight great-grandchildren and two brothers, Don and Gordon Songer.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita McCullough and nine brothers and sisters.
