Edward J. Clabaugh, 81, Webster City, died Monday, Nov. 1 at his home. Graveside memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Graceland Cemetery with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Mr. Clabaugh was cremated and there will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Edward Jacob Clabaugh, son of Jacob and Adra Litten Clabaugh, was born Feb. 21, 1918 at Duncombe. He was educated in Webster City schools. On Oct. 17, he married Nina Mae Crow at Fort Dodge. The couple had always resided in Webster City. He started in the plumbing business with Ermel Brothers in Webster City, then worked with Pray Plumbing in Fort Dodge. From 1973-1985 he owned and operated Ed's Plumbing & Heating in Webster City. He retired in 1985.

Survivors are his wife, Nina, daughters and sons-in-law, Mae and Art Tolle, Edna and Tom Hartnett, all of Webster City, Mary and Al Wise, Sun City, CA.; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Thelma Clabaugh, Webster City; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale James of Ruthven, and a sister, Mary Ragan of Farrar; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Esther Clabaugh, grandsons, Ronnie Clabaugh, Joseph and Mark Tolle, brothers Matthew Clabaugh and Marion James, sister Clarine Schulte.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Webster City Moose Lodge #735, a former member of the Iowa National Guard-133rd Infantry.
