Glenn E. Block, 70, Ellsworth, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth Monday with burial in the Story Memorial Cemetery in Ames.

Glenn Edward Block was born at rural Clare. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the administrator of the Ellsworth-Williams Co-op when he retired in 1991.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ellsworth City Council, Ellsworth Community Club and VFW Post 587, where he was the Quarter Master, and American Legion Second Division.

Survivors are his wife, Marian Block of Ellsworth, sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Carlene Block of Jewell, Dan and Kathy Block of West Des Moines, daughters and son-in-law, Linda Block of Ellsworth, Judy and Roger Fitz, Gilbert; brothers Elmer Block of Pocahontas and Robert Block of Manson, sisters Mary Baker of Fort Dodge and Diane Isaacs of Rockwell City, step-mother, Edna Block of Manson; seven grandchildren.
