Elsie Story, 84, Webster City, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Cindi O'Brien, pastoral assistant, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home Sunday from 5-9 p.m. and Monday at the church after 8:30 a.m.

Elsie Hilpipre, daughter of August and Fanny Emmenderffer Hilpipre, was born Feb. 18, 1915 on a farm near Williams. She attended rural schools near Williams and Blairsburg. On June 14, 1949 she married George William Story at Woolstock. The couple resided at Williams. They began farming in 1948 near Blairsburg, also farming near Duncombe and LuVerne. They moved to Webster City in 1984 and had wintered in Alamo, TX. Mr. Story died on May 5, 1992.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Lundy and Shirley Hilpipre, Eagle Grove, grandchildren, Robert and Bradley Jessen, Elizabeth Hilpipre, Sherri Patterson, Barbara Boyd, Kristi Simons, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Erma Stuhmer, Dorothy Lappin and Irene Barkema, all of Webster City, brothers Clarence Hilpipre, Woolstock, Marcel Hilpipre, Webster City, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents, brothers Edmund and Glen Hilpipre, sister Hortense Mortenson, and two in infancy.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
