Frieda T. Lyons, 86, Webster City, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999 at the Southfield Care Center in Webster City. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and prior to the service at the church.

Frieda T. Thode, daughter of Henry and Martha Arps Thode, was born July 29, 1913 at Tellingstedt, Germany. At the age of 11, she came to the United States with her parents to Glidden, then to Fort Dodge. On Feb. 23, 1935 she married Harley Lyons at Vincent. The couple resided in Duncombe for a short time, then moved to Webster City in 1941. She had worked as a nursing assistant in the Hamilton County Public Hospital for 17 years. Mr. Lyons died on April 29, 1970. She had resided at Southfield Care Center for the past two months.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sheryll Lyons, Roger and Nancy Lyons, all of Webster City, daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Larry McCrea, Pinetop, AZ, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sisters, Erna Danker and Anne Cibert, both of Fort Dodge, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Greenley and her parents.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Webster City Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
