Ima Fern Dennis, 92, Ames, died Sept. 10, 1999 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services were held Monday at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon with High Priest Rod Simpson and Priest Harvey Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni.

Ima Fern Campbell, daughter of Thomas Gilbert and Della May Rockey Campbell, was born March 21, 1907 in Clio, IA. She graduated from Davis City High School. She took Normal Training following graduation and taught at Togo Country School west of Davis City. She married Elbert Earl Dennis at Bethany, MO. on March 9, 1929. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in Hamilton County, MO., Webster, Hamilton and Decatur Counties in Iowa. She worked at Graceland College in Lamoni in the infirmary and in the Swarm Inn snack shop. She baked pies for the Pantry Restaurant in Lamoni and did custom sewing. The couple retired from farming and moved to Lamoni in 1962. They moved to Ames in 1992.

She was a member of the Decatur Restoration Branch of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. She became a member of the Ames Congregation of RLDS after moving to that city.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Deane and Ida Mae Dennis of Ames, daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Maynard Hiveley of Goldfield, Delo and Martin Poore of Newark, DE., 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, sister Eura Willetts of Albia, sisters-in-law Lena Dennis of Mount Ayr and Belva Collin of Trenton, MO., and brother-in-law Harvey Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 30, 1997, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
