Rosa Samuelson, 91, Boone, formerly of Ames, died Sept. 14, 1999 at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone with Rev. David Digby officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 8 a.m. until the service time. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Memorials may be given to the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Rosa Rans, daughter of George and Viola Robbins Rans, was born in Letcher, S.D. She married Arthur G. Samuelson at Adel on Dec. 23, 1925. The couple lived in the Stanhope area from 1936 to 1959 where they farmed before moving to town in Stanhope. While living in Stanhope, she taught ceramics for 11 years before moving to Ames in 1981. In 1987, she moved to the Eastern Star Masonic Home at Boone. She was a member of the Christian Church at Ames and the Royal Neighbors in Webster City since 1948.

Survivors are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Arloie Samuelson of Stanhope, Wayne and Janice Samuelson of Dyersville, seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one sister, Martha Swain of Lakeland, FL., several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers, and her husband, Arthur, in March of 1988.
