Zelma Noffke, 89, Council Bluffs, formerly of Webster City, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999 at Loess Hills Care Center in Council Bluffs. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. at the church Wednesday.

Zelma Emilie Arnold, daughter of George and Anna Petzing Arnold, was born Oct. 2, 1909 at Effingham, IL. She attended rural schools in Illinois. She married Clyde E. Jones at Schumway, IL. on July 27, 1933. They were later divorced. She moved to Webster City in 1954 and married Henry Albert Noffke at Sigel, IL on Feb 20, 1954. The couple resided at Webster City. She worked for several years at house cleaning and baby sitting in Webster City, retiring in 1989. Mr. Noffke died June 17, 1963.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Leland and Shirley Jones of Council Bluffs, a stepson and his wife, Clarence and Evelyn Noffke, Webster City; grandson and his wife, Perry and Kristi Jones, Council Bluffs, great-granddaughter Camerin Jones; five step-grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren, one step great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alvin Arnold; and sisters Alma and Elizabeth Arnold.
