Elta 'Myrl' Willardson, 96, Duncombe, formerly of Dayton, died August 11, 1999 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Carson Funeral Home in Dayton with Rev. Gary Bird officiating. Burial will be at Dayton Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Carson Funeral Home, Dayton.

She was born Feb. 27, 1903, the daughter of Fred and Lucy (Allen) Baldwin [her parents are buried at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa] She married William "Bill" Willardson in 1921. He preceded her in death in 1973. They farmed in Hamilton County for many years before moving to the Fort Dodge area. In 1955, they moved to Dayton where they operated a grocery store for a few years. They helped start the senior citizen's organization in Dayton, of which she was a member until 1991. She then moved to Duncombe to live with her daughter.

Survivors are two sons, Lawrence of Gowrie and Don of Overton, TX; a daughter, Anna Marie Gerard, Duncombe, 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren, three step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Fred Willardson, two brothers Milton and Malcolm Baldwin, one grandson and one great-grandson.
