Mary M. Dardis, 93, Webster City, formerly of Emmetsburg, died Monday, June 21, 1999 at Crestview Manor in Webster City. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg with Rev. Eugene Murray. Burial will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Emmetsburg. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The parish vigil service is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Mary Margaret Selle was born Dec. 24, 1905 at Great Oak Township in Palo Alto County near Ayrshire. She attended Great Oak Township Country School and St. Mary's Academy. She graduated from Clarke College in Dubuque in 1928. She taught school at Sacred Heart in Waterloo, Mallard Public School, Great Oak Township Country School and Ayrshire Public School. She married Ambrose L. Dardis on August 24, 1938. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg, Emmetsburg Garden Club and was a lifetime member of the Iowa State Education Association and the National Education Association.

Survivors are daughters Marita Doerning of Webster City, Rosemary Marley of Burnsville, MN., and Margaret Hough of Fort Dodge, and a son, Paul Dardis, Richmond, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 13, 1995, an infant brother, Thomas and an infant sister, Katherine.
