Homer Wayne Nail, 78, Webster City, died Sunday, June 13, 1999 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 1999 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Cass Township Cemetery in Webster City with flag presentation by the American Legion Post # 191 of Webster City. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Carson Funeral home in Dayton is in charge of the arrangements.

H. Wayne Nail was born June 22, 1920 in Webster City, the son of Allen and Olive Crist Nail. He attended country schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City in 1938. He then attended Iowa Central Community College in Webster City. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942 until his honorable discharge in September of 1945. He married Beulah VanSickle on Dec. 14, 1947 at the Little Brown Church. The couple lived and farmed in Webster City. After retiring from farming, he was employed part time as a realtor at Redling Realty in Webster City. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City.

Survivors are his wife, Beulah; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Keith Monroe, Patricia and Calvin Butrum, all of Webster City, son Tom Nail, Webster City; brother Everett Nail, Webster City; sisters Margaret Opheim, Jessie Craig-Wilson, both of Webster City, and Ruth Christian, Jefferson City, MO.; grandchildren, Cherie Butrum, Aaron Onder, James Monroe and Amy Monroe; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marion "Pete", Charles, John and Ray Nail.
