Gaylord J. Weltha, 59, Lake Mills, died Tuesday, June 8 at Lake Mills Care Center. Memorial services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall with Rev. Roger Dykstra to officiate. Burial of his ashes will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Randall.

Gaylord James Weltha, son of Otis and Ruby Joyce Wike Weltha, was born October 23, 1939 in Story City. He grew up in the Randall area, graduated from Randall High School in ? [obit says 1939]. He was a longtime resident of central Iowa, moving to Lake Mills in the 1980's from Jewell.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia of Lake Mills, three sons, James Weltha of Lisbon, Robert Weltha of Cambridge and Jon Weltha of Ames; five daughters, Brenda Weltha of Ankeny, Patricia Rolfes of Bondurant, Rhonda Weltha of Ames, Sara Weltha of Ankeny and Melynda Weltha of Ankeny; two step-children, Karen Beros of West Palm Beach, FL., and Damon Johnson of Lake Mills; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Audry Rhamy of Escondido, CA., Doris Tjernagel, Jewell and Kathryn Newcomb, Des Moines; one brother, Melbourne Swenson of Story City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Judith, and a son, Kevin.

Becker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
