Harry Rasmussen, 84, Webster City, died Sunday, May 23, 1999 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Mr. Rasmussen was cremated and memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell with Rev. Sandy Anenson officiating. Inurnment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be no visitation and arrangements were made with Foster Funeral Home.

Harry W. Rasmussen, son of Anton and Bergitta Rasmussen Rasmussen, was born June 5, 1914 at Jewell. He graduated from Jewell High School. On July 28, 1938 he married Vera Davis at Nashua. The couple resided in Jewell where they owned and operated a café for two years. They moved to Webster City where he worked for the Gambles store for a short time. In the early 40's, he started employment with Beam Manufacturing, now called Frigidaire. For many years, he worked as director of purchasing. He retired in 1984. Mrs. Rasmussen preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 1993.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Sandy Rasmussen of Jakarta, Indonesia, Steve and Cindy Rasmussen of West Des Moines, grandchildren Keiron Bergemann, Chontel Berthelsen, John, Mark and David Rasmussen; great-grandchildren, Logan and Talia Bergemann, Nash and Ashlin Berthelsen, sister, Florence Morris of Turlock, CA., several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Howard, Roy and Emil Rasmussen, sisters, Carrie Ostrem, Alvina Johnson and Sena Harman.

Memorials may be given to Hamilton County Hospice-Respite.
