Lucelia Mellinger, 86, Webster City, died Monday, May 24, 1999 at her home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cass Township Cemetery with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. There will be no visitation and arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home.

Margaret Lucelia Whaley, daughter of John and Maggie Ford Whaley, was born August 12, 1912 at Lehigh. She moved with her parents to Webster City in her youth and attended Webster City schools, graduating in 1930. On Feb. 14, 1933 she married Harold George Mellinger at South Sioux City. The couple resided in Webster City. She worked at the Hamilton County Public Hospital for several years in dietary. She was also a homemaker. Mr. Mellinger died March 30, 1986.

Survivors are a daughter, Joan Adam of Gainsville, GA., a son and daughter-in-law, John and Doris Mellinger, sons-in-law, Glenn Miller of Des Moines and Gary Arnold of Oskaloosa; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughters, Joyce Miller and Josephine Arnold, parents, brothers, Edwin and Porter Whaley, sisters Chestina Farnham, Leona Kent and Jessie Barrick.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.
