Dorothy Grove, 88, Webster City, died Saturday, March 20, 1999 at her home. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ-Congregational at Blairsburg, with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Blairsburg Cemetery.

Dorothy Helen Bell, daughter of John and Minnie Robinson Bell, was born October 17, 1910 on a farm near Ionia. In 1913, she moved with her parents to a farm north of Blairsburg. She graduated from high school at Blairsburg and then attended Iowa State Teachers College. She taught in rural schools in Hamilton county for six years. On August 19, 1935 she married Donald Keith Grove at Sioux Falls, SD. The couple farmed east of Webster City until 1942, then moved to a farm south of Blairsburg. They moved to Webster City in 1970. Mr. Grove died March 9, 1981.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Barb Grove of Cedar Rapids, Jim and Karen Grove of Spencer, Jerry and Beverly Grove of Blairsburg; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Ada Janson of Webster City, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Melvin, John and Wilbur Bell, sisters, Beulah Schroder and Lucille Vegors, a special friend, Francis Laurent.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational at Blairsburg, Women's Fellowship, C.C. Club of Blairsburg and the Webster City Senior Citizens Club.
