Elaine Mickelson, 80, of Webster City died Saturday, April 10, 1999 at the Hamilton County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Doug Bullock-Tiffany officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and at the church Tuesday prior to the service.

Elaine Reva Watkins, daughter of Roy and Hulda Kurth Watkins, was born August 18, 1918 at Alden, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove high school and Iowa State. She was employed at the Iowa State Veterinary College. On September 18, 1940 she married Clifford Joel Mickelson at Nashua. The couple resided in Davenport for one year then moved to Webster City in 1942. Dr. Mickelson was a partner in the Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Mickelson died on July 29, 1984. Elaine Mickelson was a counselor at Northeast Hamilton school for five years.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws; Carol and Brian Marcks of Baton Rouge, LA., Nancy and Douglas Dashner of DeKalb, IL., Susan and William Fridrych of Muscatine, grandchildren; Amanda Marcks, Lynette Fischer, Elizabeth Gilette, Sara Dashner, Trinh Nguyen and Joel Fridrych.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Burvine Watkins.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, past president of the Alter Guild, church circles, Sunday school teachers, Daughters of the American Revolution-serving as regent, Sons of Norway, genealogy work in Hamilton County and within her family, Iowa State Alumni-Order of the Knoll and honored as a distinguished member, Hamilton Hospital volunteer, former volunteer with the Brownies and Girl Scouts, volunteer reader for Sunset School and a school pen pal.
