Dean Landreth, 67, Dayton, died at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames on Tuesday, March 9, 1999. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. Dale Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, south of Lehigh. Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday morning at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The family will be present from 7-8 p.m. Masonic services will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Israel Family Hospice House, 400 S. Dakota St., Ames, IA 50010.

Dean Landreth, son of Leroy and Bertha Arnold Landreth, was born Feb. 6, 1932 in Stratford. He attended rural schools and graduated from Stratford Community School in 1950. He married Delores Reese at St. Peter and Paul's Parsonage at Gilbert on Nov. 21, 1951. He worked in road construction for several years and was owner of Landreth Construction for 25 years.

He was a member of the Masonic Order Acorn Lodge #601 of Stratford where he had served as Master, Lions Club where he had been a past president, Moose Lodge #520 of Ames, Midwest Watch Fob Collector Club, and International Watch Fob Club.

Survivors are his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathy Landreth of Stratford, two daughters and sons-in-law, Rojean and Dave Whittington of Geneseo, IL., Cherie and Kevin Angstrom of Boone, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Ione Myers of Mason, MI., and Betty Lou Oxendine of Fresno, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
