Hazel Westrum, 79, of Stratford passed away Tuesday, April 17 at the Webster City Hospital.

She was born April 18, 1904 and was the daughter of Jonas and Martha Johnson Angstrom.

On Jan. 1, 1924, she married Ernest Wesley Westrum at Des Moines. She was a housewife and a member of Stratford Lutheran Church and belonged to the O.A.Y. Birthday Club of Stratford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest in 1974, one daughter, Marjorie, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Norman of Chandler, Arizona, Verlyn and Dale of Stratford; two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Betty) Albrecht of Davenport, Mrs. Ben (Janice) Young of Sterling, Colo.; 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Howard (Elsie) Williams of Stanhope, one brother, Harold Angstrom of Stratford.

Services will be held Thursday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Pastor Jenny Edinger. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.

Visitations will be Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday 9:00 a.m. until noon. Hanson, Stark, Welin are in charge of arrangements.

The pallbearers will be Steve Appenzeller, Tim Albrecht, Gary Westrum, Kyle Westrum, Dirk Westrum and Roger Garvey. There will be three honorary pallbearers, Kip Appenzeller, Kerry Appenzeller, Kevin Kallansrud.

The organist will be Ardelle Phipps with Darrell Young as soloist.
