WESTRUM

STRATFORD - Geraldine Westrum, 77, died March 9, 1988 at the Boone County Hospital. She was born July 22, 1910 at Iola, Kan., the daughter of Edward and Helen Hurlock Speck. She married Sidney Westrum Nov. 14, 1935 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Westrum was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister, one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jerold (Arlene) Chally of Stratford and Mrs. Gary (Shirley) Mattson of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clara Carlson and Mary Ford, both of Stratford, and Betty Erickson of Stanhope; one brother, James Speck of Ames.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Schoolfield officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home until 9 tonight and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.

Memorials may be given to her church.

Funeral services for Geraldine Westrum, 77, of Stratford, were held on Saturday, March 12, 1988 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Schoolfield officiating. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery. She died Wednesday, March 9 at the Boone County Hospital.

Geraldine Speck was born July 22, 1910 at Iola, Kansas, the daughter of Edward James and Helen Maude (Hurlock) Speck.

On Nov. 14, 1935 she married Sidney Westrum. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Mrs. Gerold) Chally of Stratford and Shirley (Mrs. Gary) Mattson; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clara Carlson and Mary Ford of Stratford, and Betty Erickson of Stanhope; one brother, James Speck of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, one sister, and one great-granddaughter.
