Funeral services for Floyd Swedlund, 89, Boone, were held Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1992 at South Marion United Methodist Church, Stratford. Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman conducted the 10:30 a.m. service. Interment was in South Marion Cemetery, Stratford. Arrangements were completed by Foster Funeral Home, Webster City.

Mr. Swedlund passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

During the service Margaret and Norman Erickson sang "Have Thine Own Way Lord" and "In the Garden" accompanied by Margaret Carlson. Bearers were Dale Carlson, Greg Carlson, Don Johnson, Burton Paterson, Eugene Westrum and Gerald Westrum.

Floyd Swedlund was born on Monday, March 23, 1903 on a farm southeast of Stratford. He was the son of Albert and Mary (Anderson) Swedlund. He attended a rural school in the Stratford area.

On Wednesday, June 20, 1928 Floyd married Ollie Stromberg at the South Marion Church and the couple farmed southeast of Stratford. He retired in 1977. Mrs. Swedlund passed away in July 1978. Floyd moved to Boone in 1987.

Survivors include sons, Robert Swedlund, Paton and Dale Swedlund, Newton; daughter, Doris Swedlund, Carmichael, CA; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
