Elsie M. Swedlund

Elsie M. Swedlund, 86, lifelong Stratford area resident, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Boone County hospital following a short illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the South Marion United Methodist church with the Rev. Richard Russell officiating and with burial in the South Marion cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral home after 6 o'clock tonight and until 9:30 a.m. Monday at which time the casket will be taken to the church.

Elsie M. Swedlund, daughter of Albert and Mary Anderson Swedlund, was born March 12, 1895 on a farm in Marion Township. She lived near the South Marion Methodist church until 1979 when she moved to the Evangelical Free Church Home at Boone.

She is survived by one brother, Floyd Swedlund of Stratford; one niece, Doris Swedlund of Sacramento, Calif., and two nephews, Dale Swedlund, Newton and Robert Swedlund of Paton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

She was a member of the South Marion United Methodist church, an active member of the United Methodist Women, and was pianist and organist at the church for 47 years.
