RITES FOR MRS. SWEDLUND TODAY

Mrs. Eleck [Elick] Swedlund, 81, a longtime resident of Stratford, died at her home at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, death being caused by ailments incident to old age. She had been bedfast three weeks.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at South Marion church preceded by a brief service at the home. The Rev. Murphy Duncan of South Marion will have charge and burial will be made in South Marion Cemetery.

Mrs. Swedlund was born January 13, 1858 in Sweden and came to the United States with her father and brothers and sisters at the age of ten years after the death of her mother. She had since lived in the Stratford and South Marion community. She is survived by her husband and four daughters: Mrs. V.A. Holstrom [Holstrum] of Boone, Mrs. B.E. Patterson of Stratford, Hannah and Ruby at home. Also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary Carlson, also lives in Stratford. She was preceded in death by four brothers and her parents.
