E.A. Sterner Died Tuesday

STRATFORD - Edward A. Sterner, 80, died Tuesday at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames after a short illness.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Delpho Peterson of the Dayton Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in South Marion Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Hanson Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Vernice) Poulson of Knoxville, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Sterner of Swisher, Iowa, and Rudolph McKinney of Bloomington, Ill., several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Goodland, Kan., coming to Stratford with his parents at the age of five years and was educated in the Stratford schools.

Mr. Sterner had farmed for many years in the Stratford community before retiring. He was a member of the Stratford Lutheran Church.
