September 18, 1961Marshall Silvey, Jr., Dies on Saturday
STRATFORD (Special) - Marshall Silvey, Jr., 25 of Stratford, died Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Mary Greeley hospital at Ames, after a lengthy illness, suffering from leukemia.
He was a graduate of Stratford high school, and worked with the postal transportation service at Council Bluffs, until his illness.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall [Etta May Moore] Silvey, Sr., three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Maurine) Burdick of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Weldon (Edith) Sonksen of Stratford, and Bonita at home; and two brothers, Garnet and Garland Silvey, both of Stratford.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Stratford Baptist church at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Kerwin Goodwin in charge. Burial will be at the South Marion cemetery with the Hanson Funeral Home in charge.
