PROMINENT FARMER PASSES AWAY SATURDAY NIGHT

After an illness of over three weeks during which he suffered very much pain, Peter Siemsen passed away Saturday night about 10:30. Several days before his death one of his legs was amputated near the thigh in the hopes that this would save his life. But the disease had made such in-roads on his vitality that this and all other efforts proved unavailing.

Funeral services over the remains were held from the family residence yesterday at 1:30 and the remains interred in the South Marion cemetery.

Obituary was published in the March 7, 1918 edition of the Stratford Courier, however is unreadable in microfilm and digitized copies.
