CLIFF RISTRIM DIES AT HOME

Clifford (Cliff) Ristrim, 67, widely known farmer of the Stratford community, died at 3:35 p.m. yesterday at his home five miles southeast of Stratford. He had been in poor health the past four and one-half years.

Funeral services will be held at the Foster funeral home here Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Williams of Tacoma, Wash., and the Rev. C.F. Schmidt of Stanhope officiating. Burial will be in South Marion cemetery.

Clifford Wallace Ristrim, son of Charles and Hulda [Johnson] Ristrim, was born Aug. 18, 1880, on the same farm where he died. He was educated and grew to young manhood in the Stratford community and married Clara Berggren of Stanhope on March 24, 1924.

Mr. and Mrs. Ristrim continued to live on the home farm and had made their home there ever since, with the exception of six months Mr. Ristrim spent in Argentina where he was sent as a representative of the Avery Threshing Co. of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank of Stanhope and Fred of Des Moines.

Surviving besides his wife are two nephews, Clinton Ristrim of Des Moines and Melvin Ristrim of Chicago; a niece, Mrs. Robert Bowman of Denver; two aunts, Mrs. Lillie Johnson of Des Moines and Mrs. Jennie Chapman of Stratford; an uncle, Leo Johnson of Stratford, and other relatives.

Mr. Ristrim was an active member of the Modern Woodman lodge at Stanhope.

A kind and generous neighbor, he will be missed greatly not only by the immediate family but by the great number of friends he had made during his long residence in the Stratford community.
